Your privacy is important to By Lawyers. This privacy statement provides information about the personal information that By Lawyers collects, and the ways in which By Lawyers uses that personal information.
Your personal information
Personal information held by us includes your name, address and occupation, your telephone or mobile phone numbers and email address and bank account or credit card details through which payment will be made and you will select a By Lawyers username or password under which all details all of your transactions with us will be kept.

assist you to subscribe to our services;
provide the services you require;
administer and manage those services, including charging, billing and collecting debts;
inform you of ways the services provided to you could be improved;

By Lawyers also collects Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. IP addresses are assigned to computers on the internet to uniquely identify them within the global network. By Lawyers collects and manages IP addresses as part of the service of providing internet session management and for security purposes.

Through its websites, Mentor By Lawyers and By Lawyers, access is provided to a variety of resources, mentoring, commentary, forms, precedents, publications, audio and video recordings, compositions, software, communication services, artworks, products and product information (called 'By Lawyers Services'). The websites and By Lawyers services are protected by the laws relating to Intellectual Property.

To the extent permitted by law, all warranties, conditions and guarantees implied by law or otherwise are excluded and neither By Lawyers Pty Limited nor its officers, employees, agents or related bodies corporate will be liable to you or any third party in any way for any loss, damage, costs or expenses you or they may suffer or incur as a result of using By Lawyers Services or any documents or information published by By Lawyers.
You acknowledge and agree that the services provided by By Lawyers are intended to be used by professionals and their staff in the course of their business and are not consumer products or services or goods or services of a kind ordinary acquired for personal, domestic or household use.
No unlawful or prohibited use
As a condition of your use of By Lawyers Services, you will not use By Lawyers Services for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms, conditions, and notices.
Member account, password and security
If any of By Lawyers Services requires you to open an account, you must complete the registration process by providing By Lawyers with current, complete and accurate information ('Registration Data'). You also will choose a password and a user name. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account. Furthermore, you are entirely responsible for any and all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify By Lawyers immediately of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security. By Lawyers will not be liable for any loss that you may incur as a result of someone else using your password or account, either with or without your knowledge. However, you could be held liable for losses incurred by By Lawyers or another party due to someone else using your account or password. You may not use anyone else's account at any time, without the permission of the account holder. You further agree to maintain and update your Registration Data as required to keep it accurate, current, and complete. By Lawyers may terminate your rights to any or all of By Lawyers Services if any information you provide is false, inaccurate or incomplete. You agree that By Lawyers may store and use the Registration Data you provide including payment card information for use in maintaining your accounts and for billing fees to your payment card.

The Websites and By Lawyers Services contain links to third party websites ('the Links') which are external to the Websites and By Lawyers Services. By Lawyers makes no warranties and accepts no liability for the Links; the content and/or the accuracy, correctness, currency and/or reliability of such content therein; or any consequence of acting upon the contents of any website which is not owned/operated by By Lawyers. By Lawyers does not endorse the content, or the use, of such websites, material or content linked from or to this website. As a condition of your use of By Lawyers Services, you authorise us to include your organisation's name in our published list of customers.
How to contact us
By Lawyers Terms of Subscription
A subscription to Mentor By Lawyers may be cancelled at any time after the expiry of the twelve month subscription. To cancel your subscription, contact us by email at email@example.com. All subscriptions continue indefinitely until the subscriber elects to cancel.
If you cancel a subscription, you will have access to the publication until the end of the subscription period and no refund will be made.
Agreement to pay
You agree to pay for the subscription to Mentor By Lawyers who may charge your payment card or account for the service as may be accrued by or in connection with your account. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TIMELY PAYMENT OF ALL FEES AND FOR PROVIDING MENTOR BY LAWYERS WITH A VALID PAYMENT CARD FOR PAYMENT OF ALL FEES. All fees will be billed to the payment card you designate during the purchase process. If you wish to designate a different payment card or if there is a change in your payment card status, please email askus@by lawyers.com.au. There may be a temporary disruption of your access to the service until Mentor By Lawyers can verify the validity of the new payment card information.
Prices for new subscriptions are subject to change. Mentor By Lawyers reserves the right to change prices at any time, and does not provide price protection or refunds in the event of a price drop or promotional offering. All prices are quoted in Australian dollars.
Goods and services tax (‘GST’)
All subscriptions to publications from By Lawyers are subject to GST.
If you use the Shopping Cart functionality you will have one order that authorises and bills as a single transaction.
By Lawyers accepts credit and debit cards. If a credit or debit card is being used for a transaction, By Lawyers may obtain a pre-approval from the issuing company for an amount up to the amount of the order.
Mentor is an annual subscription which you may pay in a lump sum or by monthly payments. If you choose to pay for your subscription by monthly payments the debits to your card will occur on the anniversary of your initial subscription date. For example is you subscribe on the 10th of the month your following monthly payments will be debited to your card on the 10th of the month.
Subscriptions are charged in advance
By Lawyers accepts the following types of credit and debit cards: Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Please note, By Lawyers is unable to accept credit or debit cards issued by banks outside of Australia or prepaid gift cards issued by credit card companies. Cards have daily spending limits that may prevent the processing of your order. If a transaction has been declined online due to credit or debit card issues, please ensure all data is correct and resubmit. If the transaction is not accepted online, you will be unable to use that card for your transaction and should use another payment card.
