Asked

Our client the vendor is selling. We included a copy of survivorship application in the vendor statement. Is the vendor required to disclose how the deceased died i.e. suicide at property? It was not disclosed; the neighbour advised the purchaser after the auction contract signed. Now purchaser, who is superstitious, wants out of the contract. Can they get out on this basis?

Answered

Short answer - NO.

Long answer - caveat emptor.

Longer answer - absolutely nothing in section 32 requires disclosure.
